Our Core Promise

Every tool on ToolsInBrowser runs entirely in your browser. Your files, text, images, audio, and any other input are processed locally on your device. We cannot see, access, or store your data because it never reaches our servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • ✓ We do not require registration, accounts, or login

Data We DO Collect

1. Contact Form Submissions

When you voluntarily submit the contact form on our Contact page, we collect:

  • -Name - so we know who we are responding to
  • -Email address - so we can reply to your message
  • -Subject - to categorize your inquiry
  • -Message - your actual inquiry

This data is sent via email to admin@toolsinbrowser.com. It is not stored in any database. We use your email only to respond to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list, send promotional emails, or share your contact details with anyone.

2. Theme Preference

We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser's localStorage. This is a single string value ("light" or "dark") stored only on your device. It is never transmitted to any server.

Browser Storage

Many tools save your input and output in your browser's local storage so you can return to your work later. This data:

  • ✓ Lives only on your device - never transmitted to any server
  • ✓ Is specific to your browser - other browsers or devices cannot access it
  • ✓ Can be cleared anytime by clearing your browser's site data
  • ✓ Is automatically removed when you clear your browser cache
  • ✓ Is not accessible to us or any third party

Cookies

ToolsInBrowser does not use tracking cookies. The only cookie that may be set is a temporary session cookie when you submit the contact form. This session cookie is used solely for rate limiting (preventing spam) and contains no personal information. It expires when you close your browser.

Third-Party Services

While all data processing happens in your browser, some tools load external libraries or make limited external requests for functionality:

External Resources

Some tools download small supporting files from trusted hosting providers to enable features like PDF processing, database viewing, and text recognition. Only the supporting files are downloaded — your files never leave your browser.

Font Files

Font preview tools load font files from an external provider. The provider may log standard request data (IP address, browser type) per their privacy policy.

Background Removal

The Photo Background Remover downloads a small file to run in your browser. Only this file is downloaded — your images are processed entirely on your device.

Password Breach Database

The Password Breach Checker sends only the first 5 characters of your password's hash (not the password itself) to check for breaches. Your full password is never exposed.

Exchange Rate Data

The Currency Converter fetches current exchange rates. This is a read-only request - no personal data is sent.

File Processing

ToolsInBrowser includes tools for processing PDFs, images, audio files, spreadsheets, databases, and other file types. All file processing happens using browser APIs:

  • ✓ Files are processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded to any server
  • ✓ Image, audio, and PDF processing all happen locally on your device
  • ✓ Processed output files are downloaded directly to your device
  • ✓ Files stored in your browser for convenience can be cleared anytime from your browser settings

Children's Privacy

ToolsInBrowser does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since our tools run entirely in the browser and we do not require accounts, the risk of collecting children's data is minimal. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us at admin@toolsinbrowser.com and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Right to Access

Since we don't store your data (except contact form emails), there is nothing to access. Your browser data is already on your device.

Right to Deletion

Contact form emails can be deleted upon request. Browser storage can be cleared anytime from your browser settings.

Right to Portability

Your data never leaves your device. It is already in your possession.

Right to Object

We do not process personal data for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Since we do not collect email addresses for marketing, we cannot notify you of changes - please check this page periodically.
