Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tool really free?
▼
Yes, completely free with no limits, no sign-up, and no watermarks. Everything runs in your browser, so there are no server costs and nothing to charge for.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
▼
No. Your images never leave your device. All conversion happens directly in your browser. No server uploads, no external calls, 100% private.
What formats can I convert between?
▼
This tool can save your images as 11 different formats: PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF, TIFF, ICO, QOI, PDF, and SVG. Most common image formats are accepted as input, including PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO, and SVG.
Does converting between formats reduce quality?
▼
It depends on the format. Saving as a lossy format like JPEG, WebP, or AVIF removes some imperceptible detail to keep the file small - the quality slider lets you control how much. Saving as a lossless format like PNG or BMP keeps every pixel exactly as it was.
What happens to transparent areas when converting to JPEG?
▼
JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and PDF do not support transparency, so any transparent area is filled with white before saving. If you need to keep transparency, choose PNG, WebP, or AVIF as your target format instead.
What quality setting should I use?
▼
For JPEG, 85 to 95 gives excellent quality with strong compression. For WebP, 75 to 90 works well since WebP compresses more efficiently than JPEG. For AVIF, even 60 to 80 produces great results. The default of 90 is a strong starting point.
What is the maximum file size?
▼
Each file can be up to 25 MB, with a total limit of 100 MB across all uploaded files. You can upload up to 10 images at once.
What is the ICO format used for?
▼
ICO is the favicon format used by websites and the desktop icon format used by Windows. When you convert to ICO, larger images are automatically resized to fit within 256 by 256 pixels while keeping the aspect ratio.
Can I convert animated GIFs?
▼
Animated GIFs are accepted as input, but only the first frame is processed. The result is always a single, static image. If you need to keep an animation, do not convert it here.
Will my work be saved if I refresh or close the tab?
▼
Yes. Your uploaded files and converted results are automatically saved on your device, so refreshing the page or coming back later restores everything exactly as you left it. Click Clear All to wipe the saved files.

Features Explained
11 Output Formats
▼
Save your image as PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF, TIFF, ICO, QOI, PDF, or SVG. Whether you need a favicon, a tiny modern web image, a print-ready file, or a one-page PDF, the right option is one click away.
Adjustable Quality
▼
For JPEG, WebP, and AVIF, a quality slider from 1 to 100 lets you balance file size against clarity. Higher values look sharper but make bigger files. The default of 90 is a great starting point.
Smart Transparency Handling
▼
Formats that support transparency (PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, ICO, SVG) keep it. Formats that do not (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PDF) fill transparent areas with white so the result still looks clean.
Favicon and Icon Support
▼
Convert any image to ICO and the tool automatically resizes it to fit within 256 by 256 pixels while keeping the aspect ratio - perfect for website favicons and desktop icons.
Image to PDF
▼
Save any image as a one-page PDF with the image embedded at full resolution. Handy when you need to email a photo as a document or include it in a print-ready workflow.
Batch Conversion
▼
Drop in up to 10 images at once and convert the whole batch to the same target format in one click. Each thumbnail has its own progress spinner, and a failed file never stops the rest.
Single File or ZIP Download
▼
Download a single converted file directly, or grab the whole batch as one ZIP archive when you have more than one file. Each file inside keeps its original name with the new extension.
Drag, Drop and Paste
▼
Drop image files straight from your file explorer, click to browse, or press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot directly from your clipboard. The drop area highlights when a file is dragged over it.

Tips for Best Results
Use PNG when you need transparency
Logos, icons, and any image with a transparent background should be saved as PNG, WebP, or AVIF. JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and PDF will fill transparent areas with white.
Use JPEG for photographs
Photos with lots of colors and smooth gradients compress beautifully as JPEG. A quality of 80 to 92 gives a great balance of size and clarity.
Try AVIF for the smallest files
AVIF often produces files much smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality. Great for web images, as long as your audience uses modern browsers.
WebP is a safe modern default
WebP gives you excellent compression with transparency support and works in every modern browser. A strong default for web performance.
Use ICO for favicons
Convert your logo to ICO for website favicons or desktop icons. Larger images are automatically resized to fit within 256 by 256 pixels.
Use PDF to share as a document
Convert an image to PDF when you need to email it as a document, attach it to a form, or include it in a print-ready workflow.
SVG works best for simple graphics
SVG output traces pixels into vector paths, which works great for logos, icons, and illustrations - but not for photographs, which produce huge files.
Lower quality means smaller files
For JPEG, WebP, and AVIF, dropping the quality from 92 to 75 can roughly halve the file size with barely visible difference on most photos.
Animated GIFs become static
If you upload an animated GIF, only the first frame is processed. The result is always a single, static image - do not convert here if you need to keep an animation.
Convert in batches
Drop in up to 10 images at a time and convert them all to the same format in one click. Grab the whole batch as a single ZIP when you are done.
Privacy & Security
